Fimerse vs YNAB

A YNAB alternative without the method, and without the bank login.

YNAB is a budgeting method first and an app second: zero-based, every dollar given a job, one currency per budget. Fimerse is a tracker for people who want a clear picture of their money across accounts and currencies without adopting a system.

Honestly

Where each one is stronger.

Where YNAB is stronger

  • The method itself: zero-based budgeting changes how people spend, and YNAB teaches it well.
  • A large community, courses and coaching around that method.
  • Bank import where it is supported.
  • An Android app.

Where Fimerse is different

  • No method to learn. Add money, see where it went, set the budgets you want.
  • Accounts in different currencies in one picture, converted at live rates.
  • Statements read for you, PDF or photo, from any bank.
  • Free while in beta, no card needed.
Which one

Pick the one that fits how you actually bank.

Pick YNAB if

you want a budgeting discipline, not just a tracker, and you are willing to give it the weekly attention the method asks for.

Pick Fimerse if

you want to see all your money clearly with as little ceremony as possible, especially across more than one currency.

Questions

Straight answers.

Does Fimerse do zero-based budgeting?
No. Fimerse has category budgets and savings goals, but it does not ask you to assign every unit of money. If the YNAB method is what you want, YNAB is the better tool.
Can I bring my YNAB history?
Yes. Export your register as CSV and import the file. Fimerse sorts each line and queues anything unsure for review.
Is there an Android app?
Not yet. Fimerse is on the web and iPhone today.
